ferro.lyte®

Optical emission spectrometer

In detail

ModesAnalytical specificationsOptions / accessories

Modes

For fast and reliable analysis of low- and high-alloy steels as well as aluminum alloys, non-ferrous metals or special alloys such as titanium, copper and nickel-based alloys, optical emission spectrometers (OES) with spark excitation technique under argon is the method of choice. Within seconds, OES provides the most precise and widest range of analytes of the metallic constituents as well as the non-metals carbon, sulfur, phosphorus and nitrogen.

Analytical specifications

Specially designed optics

The optics, the heart of every optical emission spectrometer, are specially designed for use in harsh environments. Several sensors, specially developed for ferro.lyte, allow the full wavelength range to be measured without compromising spectral line selection.

Dimensions

Thanks to its compact dimensions of 425 x 315 x 210 mm, ferro.lyte is the ideal solution for testing areas that are difficult to access.

Electrical connection

ferro.lyte is designed for cordless use. The interaction of the integrated high-performance battery with the intelligent battery management makes ferro.lyte a reliable long-distance runner. For charging the battery, the scope of delivery includes a charger which is designed for a single-phase input voltage with protective ground 100-240 V (+10%/-10%) and one of 50 or 60 Hz.

Hand probe

The light and ergonomic hand probe is firmly connected to the basic unit with a hybrid cable. The cable is specially designed for use in harsh environments. This protects the optical fiber, minimizes the risk of failure and reduces follow-up costs for costly repairs.

Weight

With less than 16 kg and its innovative all-in-one concept, ferro.lyte is the first mobile spectrometer that can be carried safely and comfortably.

Options/accessories

Transport trolley

Although ferro.lyte is a portable metal analyzer, we still offer a sturdy and ergonomic transport trolley as an additional option. The trolley is the ideal companion for those who have to walk long distances to the measuring point, or rarely have to perform their measuring tasks in hard-to-reach testing areas - such as rod or pipe bearings.

The trolley offers space for the basic instrument as well as other accessories. Even a large argon cylinder with 10 l can be safely stowed away and transported. Large, ball-bearing rollers made of soft solid rubber ensure easy transport on any surface. This makes the transport over long distances even easier and simple - both indoor and outdoor.

Maximized mobility: Measure anywhere due to the lightweight instrument with all-in-one concept

  • Measure exactly where your material is located. Compact design, low weight and the sophisticated all-in-one concept give you maximum flexibility in everyday measuring.
  • It can be carried effortlessly even to hard-to-reach places with a total weight incl. hand probe of only 16 kg.
  • ferro.lyte® keeps everything in place and therefore minimizes the risk of accidents when changing measuring places as well as contamination of the measuring head.
  • The hand probe can be placed in an extra holder, the hybrid cable can be wound up securely on the analyzer, and the inert gas cylinder can be attached firmly to the instrument.

Intuitive operation:  Analyses easier than ever with lyticOS® software

  • The intuitive lyticOS® software guides you through the measurement process with step-by-step workflows and simplifies the operation of the instrument.
  • Results are available on the analyzer at any time at push of a button and can be conveniently backed up via cloud.
  • The entire measurement as well as the reporting can be controlled directly via the display of the handheld probe.
  • The touch display is particularly bright thanks to optical bonding technology and can be read outdoors easily at any time.

Precise metal analysis: Results in laboratory quality due to the CONLYTE® technology

  • Mobile metal analysis more accurate than ever. Even light elements such as nitrogen in duplex steel, carbon, phosphorus, sulfur, or boron are analyzed in laboratory quality thanks to the CONLYTE® technology (filled as a patent).
  • The CONLYTE® technology uses an extended wavelength range and avoids impurities of the measuring results with a complete isolation of the measurement from the surrounding atmospheric air.
  • This improves the measurement of light elements, such as nitrogen, carbon, phosphorus, sulfur, or boron, what is challenging for mobile analyzers without CONLYTE technology®.

Reliable results: Analyses & reports at the push of a button

  • Measurement results are available on the instrument at any time.
  • Comfortable backup per Cloud possible.
  • Automated reporting at the push of a button facilitates documentation.
  • Results available nearly everywhere via network.

Increased availability: Flexible hybrid cable instead of error-prone spiral cable

  • ferro.lyte® was developed with an exclusive hybrid cable and therefore eliminates one of the weak points of mobile OES - the supply cable. Heavy mechanical stress can lead to failures with spiral cables.
  • In the hybrid cable, light guide, gas line, and power supply are fixed in position and stranded which prevents them from chafing against each other. This maximizes availability and minimizes repair costs.

Wireless measurements: Flexible use in mains & battery operation

  • ferro.lyte® can be used in mains and battery operation.
  • The analyzer can be used for a complete shift without having to connect it to the power. Up to 500 measurements are possible with one charge thanks to intelligent battery management.
  • The system informs you when the charge level is low – a shutdown due to low charge is performed safely and without data loss.

Reduced maintenance efforts: Single-window concept for fast & easy maintenance

  • Only one protective window is installed at the light outlet. This makes cleaning easier – with minimized susceptibility to errors.
  • Even inexperienced users can clean the protective window safely and in a time-saving manner, keeping maintenance costs low.

Secured in no time: Avoid unintentional use with the Safety Lock

  • Safety Lock increases user safety by avoiding unintentional triggering of the optical emission spectrometer. Once locked, ferro.lyte® will not start to trigger, even if the start button is pressed.
  • The safety controller is located directly on the hand probe and can be operated immediately.
